We hope you’ve taken the time to look around the site and learn more about our project and then looked through the galleries to see some of the images of the beautiful reefs we’re going to be documenting. If you’re still trying to make up your mind about helping us out, consider these points:
- Studies are showing that major reef systems have lost as much as 50% of their area in the last 20 years or so. Photography and videography projects like Underwater Sombrero may be the only way to enjoy these reefs in another 20 years.
- The project team is behind this project emotionally and financially contributing to the project by self funding substantial travel expenses
- The Underwater Sombrero book, when published, will be donating a portion of the purchase price to support Reef Relief‘s mission of education and preservation. Check out their blog entry on our project here!
- Images from the Underwater Sombrero project will be contributed to Sea Web.org’s Marine Photobank Initiative to help in their mission of education and conservation.
We’ve put together a worthy project. If you have questions on our project or about our plans, please don’t hesitate to email us at info@underwatersombrero.com. We would certainly appreciate your support. To make a simple donation, please visit our donation page. If you’d prefer a keepsake from the project, please visit our Funding Incentives page.
Thank you!
